About Caprock
Caprock is a free, open-source desktop app for AI coding agents, for macOS, Windows and Linux. It puts Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode sessions (including the ones you start in your own terminal) and the Gemini CLI sessions it starts into one window: terminals and projects in tabs and split panes, with activity, cost, plan limits and loop alerts for every session.
Pipeline follows every pull request from the agent through CI, review, merge and release, with what the agents spent on it at API list price, and plans the next version from your changelog entries.
Cost is per repository and per model, priced at API list prices from the tokens the agents already record, next to the 5-hour and weekly plan-limit windows. Everything the agent wrote is searchable across sessions and kept after Claude Code's 30-day transcript cleanup. A phone can carry on the work.
It works with the subscription you already have. A daemon on loopback records sessions into a local SQLite database: no account, no hosted service, no telemetry. Free under Apache-2.0; an optional Premium licence adds paid features on top.
What Caprock does
Caprock is a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux that keeps a local ledger of coding agent sessions. It shows which sessions are waiting or stuck, tracks plan limits, and estimates agent costs by repository and pull request. It connects agent activity with pull requests, CI runs, and releases, helping developers understand what their agents are doing and what their work costs. Caprock also retains searchable session history beyond the original transcripts’ retention.
Caprock imports transcripts still on disk and records new sessions from supported coding agents, including sessions started in a user's own terminal. It prices turns at API list prices and stores data in a SQLite file on the user's machine. The app reads git and GitHub information to connect sessions with repositories, pull requests, CI, and releases. Users can run agents in its tabs and split panes or keep their existing terminal. Optional phone pairing provides browser-based session access.
Caprock is for developers who run multiple coding agents across repositories and want one view of their sessions, costs, plan limits, and pull request progress. The page describes it as free and open source for solo use, with support for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It runs locally without an account or telemetry by default, and network features remain off until enabled. Teams can use a separate edition hosted on their own servers.
