SaaSCity vs BetterLaunch

Two launch platforms that both started in 2026 and both sit at the same Domain Rating. Which one gets you live sooner, what each dollar buys, and where the other one is simply better - checked, dated, and honest about the rows we lose.

The short answer

Same domain authority, different products. Both domains sit at DR 58 (Ahrefs, 2026-08-26), so a dofollow link from either is worth the same on paper. SaaSCity publishes its traffic (300,246 unique visitors in a trailing 30 days; BetterLaunch publishes none), ships more launches a month, and its $99.99 Premium buys a launch post we write. BetterLaunch pins paid listings to its homepage for 7 or 30 days, lets you pick the launch date, and sells hand-submission to 60 or 120+ other directories, none of which we offer. On the free tier the answer is whichever queue is shorter that week. Our free lane is capped at 15 slots a week and books the first Monday still open, currently 2026-09-07, 2 Mondays out, where BetterLaunch books free launches onto a Monday at least 30 days out. Both are free to start with a badge, neither asks for exclusivity, and the honest recommendation is to take both free links and pay only for the thing you actually want.

Disclosure: no money moves between the two sites in either direction. SaaSCity appears as a row in BetterLaunch's public directory list and BetterLaunch appears in ours. Neither paid for this page or saw it before it went live.

  1. aBoth Domain Ratings pulled from the Ahrefs free Domain Rating API on 2026-08-25; both sites advertise DR 58 and the API agreed that day. SaaSCity's figure on this page is re-baked at each deploy, so it can drift a point from the one checked alongside BetterLaunch's. A gap of two or less is called a tie.
  2. bSaaSCity figure is Cloudflare unique visitors across the whole site over the trailing 30 days, refreshed at build time. It is raw edge traffic, not filtered sessions, so it reads higher than an analytics-script number would. BetterLaunch publishes no traffic figure; its homepage says "thousands of eyes".
  3. cSaaSCity counts are direct database counts on 2026-08-25: active listings, and active listings created between 1 and 25 August 2026. BetterLaunch's "927 products" is the count on its products page and "118 products launched during August 2026" is the count on its August launches page, both read the same day, so the two August figures cover the same 25 days.
  4. dFree tier terms from betterlaunch.co/pricing on 2026-08-25: "$0", one submission, "Monday launch (30+ days out)", "7 days homepage listing", and "The backlink on the Free plan is nofollow - make it dofollow by adding the BetterLaunch badge". SaaSCity's free terms are on our pricing page: every free listing books the first Monday that still holds one of 15 weekly slots, and the badge on your homepage is what makes that link dofollow rather than nofollow - it does not move the date. Our wait in the row above is read from our own launch queue when this page rebuilds (daily), so it is the live first opening, 2026-09-07, not a figure typed in once.
  5. eBetterLaunch prices from betterlaunch.co/pricing and /directories on 2026-08-25: Starter $24, Growth $49, Launch Bundle $219, directory submission $149 for 60+ and $199 for 120+ directories. Each is displayed struck through from a higher figure ($39, $99, $289, $200, $250); the number you pay is the smaller one, and the struck one is marketing. "Up to 5x" and "up to 20x more exposure" on the pinned tiers are their claims, not measurements.
  6. fSaaSCity's refund line is on our pricing page. BetterLaunch's pricing page and FAQ carried no refund wording and no approval-time wording on 2026-08-25. A third-party review mentions a 30-day guarantee on their submission service; we could not find it on their site, so it is not counted here.

Full overview

SaaSCity logo

SaaSCity

SaaSCity is a SaaS directory drawn as an isometric city: every approved listing is a building you place on a shared map, with its own indexable page, a launch feed and community votes. 1,393 listings are live and 231 were added in the first 25 days of August 2026. Free listings book the first Monday that still holds one of 15 weekly free slots (currently 2026-09-07),and our badge on your homepage is what turns that link dofollow. $19.99 skips the queue after a human review, and $99.99 adds a launch post our editor researches and writes for you. We sell no homepage placement and no submission service; the directory list is published for you to work through yourself.

BetterLaunch logo

BetterLaunch

BetterLaunch is a product launch directory that also sells done-for-you directory submission. Products go into a newest-first list with upvotes and 20 categories - 927 listed, 118launched in August 2026 - and paid plans pin a listing to the homepage for 7 or 30 days. Free launches wait for a Monday at least 30 days out and ship a nofollow link until you add their badge. The second product is hand-submission to 60 or 120+ directories filtered above DR 20, delivered as a dashboard with screenshots, sold alone or bundled with a Starter launch. Alongside both sit a public list of 297 directories with DR and follow status and a library of founder playbooks. The site's X account dates from March 2026.

Which one should you pick?

Pick SaaSCity if

  • You want the shorter free queue - ours opens sooner than a Monday 30 or more days out.
  • You would rather have an article written about your product than a week at the top of a homepage.
  • You want to see the traffic number before you decide, and a listing that stays findable on a map after launch week.
  • You want the refund terms in writing before you pay.

Pick BetterLaunch if

  • You want your listing pinned to a homepage - 7 days for $24, 30 days for $49 - which we do not sell.
  • You want someone else to hand-submit you to 60 or 120+ directories and show you the screenshots.
  • You want to choose the exact launch date.
  • You want a finer category split - 20 against our 14.

Both have a free tier, both turn it dofollow for a badge, and neither asks for exclusivity - so the real answer for most founders is both, then one paid upgrade wherever the thing you want is actually sold.

FAQ

Got questions? We've got answers.

Is SaaSCity or BetterLaunch better for SEO?
On the link itself, neither. Both domains sit at DR 58 (Ahrefs, 2026-08-26), so a dofollow link from either is worth the same on paper. Both hand you one dofollow link from their own domain once you carry their badge or pay. The difference is what sits around that link. SaaSCity Premium adds a launch post we write, with 3 dofollow links from an article rather than a directory row. BetterLaunch sells hand-submission to 60 or 120+ other directories, which is a different product: links from many domains, of which a good share will be nofollow or pending review. Both free tiers exist, so the cheapest honest answer is to take both free links first.
Do both platforms give a dofollow backlink for free?
Both do, and both attach the same condition: their badge on your site. On SaaSCity the badge buys the link itself: with it verified on your homepage the free listing ships dofollow, without it the same listing ships nofollow. It does not change the date - badged or not, a free listing books the first Monday that still has one of 15 free slots. On BetterLaunch the free plan ships nofollow and turns dofollow once you add their badge. On a live BetterLaunch listing we opened, the outbound link carried rel="noopener" and no nofollow, which matches their promise, though we cannot tell which plan that listing is on. Check any listing yourself with view-source before you count on it.
How much does each one cost?
SaaSCity: free with a badge on your site (the badge buys the dofollow link; the date is the first Monday with a free slot left), $19.99 for Quick Pass (priority human review, live within 24 hours, no badge needed), $99.99 for Premium (Quick Pass plus the launch post we write). BetterLaunch: free with a badge and a 30+ day wait, $24 Starter (skip the queue, pick the date, 7 days pinned), $49 Growth (30 days pinned), $219 Launch Bundle (Starter plus submission to 120+ directories), and the submission service alone at $149 for 60+ or $199 for 120+ directories. All one-time. Their prices are shown as discounts from higher struck-through figures; pay attention to the smaller number only.
Which one gets you live faster?
Free: whichever queue is shorter on the day you ask. Our free lane is capped at 15 slots a week and books the first Monday still open, currently 2026-09-07, 2 Mondays out, where BetterLaunch books free launches onto a Monday at least 30 days out. Both free queues move, so check both booking screens rather than trusting either marketing page. Paid: both skip the queue. SaaSCity Quick Pass is live within 24 hours after a human review; BetterLaunch's paid plans launch immediately or on a date you pick, and they do not publish an approval time.
Where does BetterLaunch beat SaaSCity?
Four places. Homepage placement: $24 pins you to their homepage for 7 days and $49 for 30, and SaaSCity sells nothing equivalent - your listing is a building on the map, never pinned. Date choice: their paid plans let you pick the launch day; ours go live within 24 hours of approval. The done-for-you service: hand-submission to 60 or 120+ directories with a screenshot dashboard, which we do not offer at any price. And 20 categories to our 14.
Where does SaaSCity beat BetterLaunch?
Traffic you can see: Cloudflare counted 300,246 unique visitors across saascity.io in the trailing 30 days, and BetterLaunch publishes no figure. Volume: 231 new listings against their 118 over the same 25 days of August 2026. A cheaper entry at $19.99. A refund line in writing on the pricing page. And on the top tier, editorial work rather than placement: a launch post we research and write, published within 3 days with 3 dofollow links.
Is BetterLaunch's directory submission service worth $149 to $199?
It depends on what your time costs and how many of the 60 to 120 directories accept you, and neither of us can promise the second number. Points in its favour: they filter for directories above DR 20 with real traffic, submit by hand, and show screenshots. Points to weigh: you do not choose the lineup, many high-DR directories publish nofollow links or hold submissions in review for weeks, and a batch of directory links is a supporting signal, not a ranking strategy. The self-serve alternative is our directory superlist, which is the same kind of list with DR and follow status per row, and your own evenings.
Can I launch on both?
Yes, and for most founders it is the right call. Neither platform asks for exclusivity, both free tiers give a dofollow link for the price of a badge, and the audiences only partly overlap. Two links from two DR 58 domains beat one. Put the badges on your site, take both free launches, then pay one of us only for the thing you actually want: a written post here, homepage pinning or hand-submission there.
Is this comparison biased?
It is written by SaaSCity, so read it with that in mind. No money moves between the two sites in either direction: BetterLaunch is not a sponsor, and we have not bought anything from them. Each site lists the other in its public directory list, which is the whole relationship. Every figure names its source and the date it was checked (2026-08-25), the rows we lose are marked as losses, and both Domain Ratings can be re-checked with any Ahrefs DR checker in under a minute.
