About Extractune
Extractune splits any song or video into vocals, drums, bass and other parts, free, on your phone or computer. The free split runs on your own device, with no account and no watermark on the audio.
Use it to make an acapella, an instrumental or karaoke track, a drumless backing track for practice, or a clean vocal for a remix. Slow a song down, change its key and loop a section while you learn it. Get the lyrics written out, then turn them into a lyric or karaoke video. It also converts video to MP3 and extracts audio from MP4 and other formats.
Pro ($4.99 a month, $35 a year, or a $1.99 7-day pass) adds HQ split on a server GPU for cleaner vocals on any phone, with 3 free tries, plus karaoke videos and 1080p lyric videos without the mark.
What Extractune does
Extractune is a browser-based tool for working with audio and video files. It extracts audio from videos and separates songs into voice, drums, bass, and other parts, helping users make instrumentals, acapellas, and practice tracks. Users can also adjust individual parts, change playback speed or key, and create transcripts or subtitles. The page says the tools are free, require no sign-up, and run on the user's device, with video files not uploaded.
A user chooses an audio or video file from their device and can trim it to the section they want. The browser can extract audio as MP3, WAV, or WebM, or split a song into voice, drums, bass, and other parts. Users adjust volume, solo or mute parts, apply preset mixes, change speed or key, and loop sections for practice. They can download the mix or individual parts. The page says transcription sends compressed audio for processing.
The page presents Extractune for people who want to work with songs or videos in a browser, including musicians and people practising parts of a song. Its tools cover vocal removal, stem separation, audio extraction, playback adjustments, and transcripts or subtitles. It works on phones and computers in recent Chrome, Edge, or Safari, requires no app installation, and keeps video processing on the user's device.
