Futurepedia Alternatives in 2026: 14 AI Tool Directories Checked Live
HubSpot bought Futurepedia for $19.1 million in April, the catalog holds 2,497 tools, and every page that once sold a listing now returns a 404. On November 6, 2026 we read 300 Futurepedia listings and the pricing, submit and rules pages of 14 alternatives, so this guide covers both jobs: finding an AI tool, and getting yours listed.

Everything here was checked on the live sites on November 6, 2026, unless a line says otherwise. We read each directory's pricing, submit and rules pages, and 367 listing pages for the website button's rel attribute. Prices are one-time unless stated. Audience figures are each site's own claim, and we did not verify them. Domain Ratings are Ahrefs figures from our directory dataset, refreshed by our crawler. The screenshots are from the same day.
Quick answer: The best Futurepedia alternatives in 2026 are There's An AI For That (55,910 tools searched by task, $49 to list), Future Tools (a curated list with AI news, free to submit), Supertools from The Rundown (a directory beside AI courses) and RankmyAI (75,457 tools ranked on traffic, reviews and funding). If you make an AI tool, you need an alternative anyway, because Futurepedia's submit and listing pages returned a 404 on November 6. For a paid listing with a followed link, use TAAFT ($49), Toolify ($99), PoweredByAI ($11.99) or SaaSCity ($24.99), which is ours.

Futurepedia began as a list of AI tools. Today its homepage sells a personal AI plan and workflows for your role, and the directory sits one click behind them. That shift is why people go looking elsewhere. Someone who wants to find a tool for one specific job gets a smaller catalog than most roundups claim, and a founder who wants to get listed finds no door at all.
This guide takes both readers seriously, since most directories serve both. Each entry says what the site is like to search and what it costs to appear on it.
Key takeaways
- Futurepedia lists 2,497 tools by its own sitemap, in 10 categories. TAAFT counts 55,910, RankmyAI 75,457 and Toolify 31,318.
- HubSpot paid $19.1 million in cash, net of cash acquired, on April 3, 2026, according to its 10-Q.
- Futurepedia's /enhanced page sold a $497 listing on October 7. On November 6 it returned a 404, along with /submit-tool, /verified, /pricing and /advertise.
- Its link changed too. All 299 listings we read had a followed Visit Website button, where our October check found rel="nofollow".
- All 299 listings also carried a Verified badge, so the badge no longer separates one tool from another.
- Followed links on paid listings: TAAFT $49, Toolify $99, PoweredByAI $11.99, SaaSCity $24.99. ToolPilot gives one free for a link back, after a wait of up to 60 days.
- Three popular directories pass no usable link. Future Tools sends clicks through a path blocked in robots.txt, AIxploria marks everything nofollow, and AI Tools Directory uses a redirect subdomain that blocks Googlebot.
What Futurepedia is in November 2026
Futurepedia is an AI directory and education business owned by HubSpot. It runs the directory, a newsletter, the Skill Leap courses and YouTube channels including Futurepedia, Skill Leap AI and Howfinity. Our Futurepedia review has the October detail, and this section records what has changed since.
The directory
The tool sitemap held 2,497 URLs on November 6, a little under the 2,505 the homepage counted in October. The tools sit in 10 categories such as Productivity, Video, Business, Automation and Code. Older roundups quote 4,000 to 5,000 tools, and we could not find that number anywhere on the site.
The listings are well kept. Each one has key takeaways, pricing, a rating and alternatives, and every one of the 299 we read had been updated between August and November 2026. Its editorial guidelines describe a team of more than 20 people testing and fact-checking tools, and they disclose that Futurepedia may earn a referral fee when readers sign up through its links. They also say: "We do not sell rankings."
All 299 listings carried a Verified badge. When every tool has one, the badge tells a reader nothing about which tool to pick.
The audience
Futurepedia's homepage says 700,000+ professionals from 150+ countries use it. Its About page claims 300k+ newsletter readers, 500K+ registered accounts and 2M+ YouTube subscribers across its channels. It gives website traffic only as millions of unique visitors, with no time period. The learning side is substantial: its Learn page lists 25 courses and 600+ training videos, sold through a 7-day free trial.
The listing route is gone

On October 7, futurepedia.io/enhanced sold a Verified Enhanced Listing for $497 with a promise of at least 1,000 clicks, and the $247 tier some roundups mention was no longer on it. On November 6 that page returned a 404. So did /submit-tool, /submit, /verified, /pricing and /advertise. No menu or footer link mentions a listing. The editorial guidelines end with a line about strategic partnerships that leads to the general contact form, and that form is the only route we found.
We don't know whether this is a pause or a decision, and we found no announcement. HubSpot's own AEO Sensor has a listing, but a small maker has nothing to fill in and no price to pay.
The link, measured

We took 300 URLs at even intervals from the tool sitemap. One was a 404, and we read the raw HTML of the other 299.
- All 299 Visit Website buttons linked straight to the product, with Futurepedia's utm tags, and rel="noopener noreferrer". None was nofollow, ugc or sponsored.
- The 25 pages we checked in detail had an "index, follow" robots tag and a canonical pointing at themselves.
- The rendered page in Chrome matched the raw HTML. The tool's social links on the same page are nofollow.
On October 7, the button on all four listings we checked was rel="nofollow", so this is a recent change. It makes an existing Futurepedia listing more useful for search than it was a month ago. It does nothing for a tool that isn't already there, and it could change back.
Who owns it

Note 16 of HubSpot's June 2026 10-Q says the company acquired all membership interests of Futurepedia, LLC on April 3, 2026, to expand its media footprint. The cash price was $19.1 million, net of cash acquired, with about $8.6 million more in post-combination consideration that depends on continued employment and is expensed over two years. HubSpot calls the deal immaterial to its results. Futurepedia now uses HubSpot's terms and privacy policy, and its logo carries the HubSpot Media name.
Why people look for Futurepedia alternatives
People searching for tools usually want one of three things Futurepedia doesn't do well: a much larger catalog, search by task, or data on which tools are actually growing. A 2,497-tool list misses a lot of niche products, and browsing categories is slow when you know exactly what you need done.
Tool makers have a simpler reason. They can't get on it. Even before the 404, the only route cost $497, about ten times TAAFT's basic listing.
Some readers leave for the opposite reason: they want less. A curated list that adds a handful of tools a week and explains why is a better fit for them than any catalog, and that is where Future Tools and Supertools come in.
The 14 alternatives at a glance
"Tools" is the site's own count. "Link" is what the website button did in the page HTML on November 6, or on the date in the entry. "Listing wait" is the site's stated time for the route named.

Large AI catalogs
These are the sites that beat Futurepedia on size. Search matters more here than browsing, and paid placement is common, so read the labels on sponsored rows.
1. There's An AI For That
DR: 77 · Tools: 55,910 · Cost: $49 or $437 · Link: Followed · Best for: Searching by task, and the first paid listing for any AI tool

There's An AI For That, or TAAFT, works like a search engine for AI. You describe a job and it returns tools for that job. Its homepage counted 55,910 tools and 10,851 tasks on November 6, next to feeds of models, repositories, news and funding rounds. It is free to browse.
Listing costs $49 one-time, which buys a permanent page and an estimated 50 to 100 clicks in the first week, or $437 with a guaranteed newsletter feature. The higher plan estimates 700 to 10,000+ clicks. Launching on TAAFT before anywhere else adds an ad credit of up to $300. All four listings we opened linked directly to the product with no rel attribute, which is a followed link.
Its own audience numbers moved in a month: 3.5M+ monthly visitors and 1.8M+ newsletter subscribers on November 6, against 5M+ and 2.5M+ on the same page on October 7. The site doesn't explain the change. Our TAAFT review has the rules, and TAAFT alternatives covers the rest of this market.
2. Toolify.ai
DR: 73 · Tools: 31,318 · Cost: $99 · Link: Followed · Best for: Traffic data for researching rivals

Toolify.ai counts 31,318 AIs in 459 categories and publishes in several languages. Each listing has tabs for reviews, pricing, analytics and alternatives, and those traffic estimates are the reason to use it even if you never list. You can see which rival is growing before you pick a tool or a positioning.
A listing costs $99 with no free route, and goes live within 48 hours with no queue. The submit page promises at least six dofollow links. All 12 recent listings we read had rel="dofollow" on Open site. That isn't a real rel value, so Google reads the link as a normal followed one. Toolify claims 5.1M+ monthly visits and 700K+ subscribers. Our Toolify review goes further.
3. PoweredByAI
DR: 37 · Tools: 25,000+ · Cost: $11.99 or $69.99 · Link: Followed · Best for: The cheapest paid listing in this guide

PoweredByAI claims 25,000+ tools, 105K+ monthly visitors and a 50K+ newsletter. Pro costs $11.99 a listing, shown against $49.99, with a dofollow link, instant approval and three newsletter placements. Elite costs $69.99 and adds sponsored placement and removes competitors from your page. We found no free plan on its pricing page. The three listings we opened linked straight to the product with rel="noopener noreferrer".
Its Outrank feature sells a #1 spot to the highest bidder from $11.99, so its rankings are partly paid. Its numbers also need care: the homepage says 100,000+ annual visitors near a claim of 105K+ monthly ones, and the click figures on the plans are estimates.
4. TopAI.tools
DR: 65 · Tools: 23,645+ · Cost: $47 or $229 · Link: Mixed, 10 of 30 followed · Best for: Browsing free tools and use cases

TopAI.tools counts 23,645+ tools in 120+ categories, with free-tool lists, a Top 100 and pages by use case. It claims 1m+ monthly users and 3m+ monthly page views. Fast Track costs $47 and goes live in 24 to 48 hours, in the homepage's Just Landed section. Featured costs $229 for seven days. Both refund you automatically if the editors decline the tool.
The link is the catch. We read the Try Now button on 30 listings from the homepage: 10 were direct and followed, 18 were nofollow, and 2 pointed nowhere. Most of the newest entries were followed and most older ones weren't. In October we recorded Try Now as followed, and the submit page promises nothing about it, so ask before you pay if the link matters to you.
5. Dang.ai
DR: 83 · Tools: 7,000+ · Cost: Free with a backlink, or $49 · Link: 302 redirect · Best for: A free listing on a known catalog, for a link back

Dang.ai has listed AI tools since 2022. It counts 7,000+ published tools and 330K+ monthly visitors, citing Google Analytics for October 2026. The free route needs a crawlable backlink to dang.ai, allows one category and can take up to four weeks. Basic costs $49 for a review in about four days with no backlink. Pro costs $30 to set up and $19 a month, with a newsletter feature and alternatives hidden from your page.
All four listings we read sent View tool through an l.dang.ai short link with a 302 redirect, so count on the traffic and not the link. Dang also takes NSFW tools on a separate plan, and NSFW ads ran beside the listing we opened, which may matter for a business tool.
6. ToolPilot
DR: 79 · Tools: 3,779 · Cost: Free with a backlink, or $99 · Link: Followed · Best for: A free followed link, if you can wait

ToolPilot is a mid-size catalog with 3,779 products on November 6, and it publishes no traffic figure. Free listings need a badge or link back on your site, and the form warns they can take up to 60 days. Priority costs $99 and goes live within seven days. Premium costs $199 for the first month and $39 a month after that, with homepage placement and editing help.
All three listings we opened had a direct Visit Site link with no rel attribute. For a maker with no budget and some patience, this is the best free followed link in the guide.
7. AIxploria
DR: 57 · Tools: Not stated · Cost: $99 · Link: Nofollow · Best for: Readers outside the English-speaking market

AIxploria runs in more than 30 languages and claims 500,000+ visitors a month. Fast Listing costs $99 and publishes within five business days, Verified costs $299 and takes two, and a Featured slot costs $499.
Its FAQ says plainly that all outbound links are nofollow, and both listings we opened were. You are paying for readers, so judge it on the clicks it sends. A tool that shuts down stays on the site in a separate RIP category.
Curated lists closest to Futurepedia
If you liked Futurepedia because someone had already filtered the noise, start here. A person decides what goes into all three.
8. Future Tools
DR: 70 · Tools: 4,533+ · Cost: Free, if picked · Link: Redirect blocked in robots.txt · Best for: A hand-picked list with AI news

Future Tools is Matt Wolfe's personal curation, and it is the most direct swap for someone who wants a trusted filter. It lists 4,533+ tools and adds a news feed, a Top 20 and a twice-weekly newsletter with 250,000+ subscribers. Its advertise page gives 60k+ monthly site visitors, so the newsletter is by far the larger audience.
Submitting is free, and you probably won't get in. Its FAQ says over 75% of submissions are turned down, that you likely won't hear back, and that you can resubmit after a week. Visit buttons go through a /go/ path with a 302 redirect, and robots.txt disallows that path, so a listing is a referral source and not a backlink. Sponsorships are sold by email. Our Future Tools guide covers the submission rules.
9. Supertools
DR: 72 · Tools: 1,577 · Cost: Free by email, if picked · Link: Followed · Best for: The closest match to Futurepedia's tools and courses model

Supertools is the tool directory from The Rundown AI, whose newsletter claims 3,500,000+ readers. Its 1,577 tools are sorted newest first and filtered by role, such as Marketing, Legal, Finance and Students. The Rundown also sells AI University and industry courses, which makes it the nearest thing here to Futurepedia's mix of directory and education.
Makers can email [email protected] with the tool's name, URL, category and a one-sentence description. The newest entries on November 6 included launches from OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Anthropic, so a small tool may not get in. The two listings with a website button that we read linked straight to the product with rel="noopener noreferrer". A third had no button.
10. AI Tools Directory
DR: 51 · Tools: 770 · Cost: Free form, or paid Fast Track · Link: Redirect blocked for Googlebot · Best for: A short list with descriptions written by people

AI Tools Directory holds 770 tools, each reviewed by hand with a description written by its team. The free form guarantees nothing. Fast Track, $99 when we checked in October, promises a listing in three days or less. It turns down crypto products, waiting lists, hidden pricing and descriptions written by AI.
On the three listings we read, TRY IT went through link.aitoolsdirectory.com with a 307 redirect, and that subdomain's robots.txt disallows Googlebot. In October the same button was a direct link. It is a good list for readers, and a maker should expect referral clicks only.
Rankings built from data
11. RankmyAI
DR: 38 · Tools: 75,457 · Cost: Free, if accepted · Link: Nofollow · Best for: Comparing tools on traffic, reviews and funding

RankmyAI tracks more AI tools than anyone else in this guide. It ranks 75,457 of them each month on web traffic, customer reviews and investment, and shows each tool's overall, traffic, investment and review rank with the month's change. The site is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Rankings update with a lag: on November 6 the pages used September data.
Adding a tool is free through its tool addition form, at its discretion, and review can take up to 21 days. Both listings we read had a rel="noopener nofollow" website button. Use it to decide between tools, or to see how yours compares, more than as a listing channel.
General directories that take AI tools
An AI tool is usually a software product too, and these three reach people outside the AI directory crowd.
12. SaaSCity
Tools: SaaS and AI products · Cost: $24.99 or $49.99 · Link: Followed · Best for: An AI product sold as SaaS, with a permanent page

SaaSCity is our own directory, so weigh this entry accordingly. It lists SaaS products and AI tools on a live city map, and every listing is paid and reviewed by hand.
- Basic listing, $24.99: live within 24 hours, with a followed link and a building on the map.
- Premium listing, $49.99: everything in Basic plus a launch review on our blog, written by us, with five links.
Similarweb estimates 60.2K monthly visits to the site, far below what TAAFT and Toolify claim for themselves, and the readers are founders and software buyers more than people hunting for an AI toy. An AI writing app for marketers fits well. A free image generator is better off on TAAFT. Pricing has the details.
13. Product Hunt
DR: 91 · Cost: Free · Link: rel="ugc" · Best for: A launch day with a large audience

Product Hunt is free, and you can schedule a launch from tomorrow to 30 days ahead. It suits a single loud day better than a slow search listing. A homepage feature is an editors' decision, so a launch can go live and be seen by few people. All 10 launch pages we read on November 5 used rel="noreferrer noopener ugc". Our Product Hunt review and launch alternatives guide go further.
14. AlternativeTo
DR: 82 · Tools: 161,030 apps · Cost: Free · Link: Nofollow · Best for: People searching for an alternative to a named product

AlternativeTo captures people who already know the product they want to replace, which is a strong moment to appear. Its FAQ says links to apps are usually nofollow and can't be bought. In our November 4 check its free queue ran for months, and it was declining thin AI wrappers, so a tool with a real product behind it has a better chance. Our AlternativeTo guide has the rules.
Futurepedia vs TAAFT vs Toolify vs Future Tools
These are the four names most comparisons put side by side.
| Futurepedia | TAAFT | Toolify | Future Tools | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tools | 2,497 | 55,910 | 31,318 | 4,533+ |
| How you find a tool | Categories, role-based plan | Task search | Categories, rankings | Curated lists, news |
| Extras | Courses, workflows, YouTube | Prompts, deals, mini tools | Traffic data, ad library | AI news, Top 20 |
| Newsletter (own figure) | 300k+ | 1.8M+ | 700K+ | 250,000+ |
| Site traffic (own figure) | Millions of visitors, no period | 3.5M+ a month | 5.1M+ a month | 60k+ a month |
| Cost to list | No public route | $49 | $99 | Free, if picked |
| Link | Followed, 299 of 299 | Followed, 4 of 4 | Followed, 12 of 12 | Blocked redirect |
| Domain Rating | 73 | 77 | 73 | 70 |
For finding a tool, TAAFT is the broadest and Future Tools the most opinionated. For learning, Futurepedia is still the strongest of the four. For a maker, the order is TAAFT, then Toolify, then a free attempt at Future Tools.
Where to list an AI tool now
With Futurepedia closed to new makers, this order gets a tool in front of the most people for the least money.
- Today: submit the free forms at Future Tools, RankmyAI and AlternativeTo, and email Supertools if your launch is worth reporting.
- If you can keep a badge on your site, add ToolPilot's free listing. Its 60-day wait is the longest here, so start it early. Dang.ai's free route works the same way, for a redirected link.
- Pay for TAAFT at $49. It is the largest audience, and the link is followed.
- Add one of Toolify ($99) or TopAI.tools ($47). Ask TopAI about the link first.
- Add a cheap followed listing: PoweredByAI at $11.99, or a SaaSCity Basic listing at $24.99 if the product is sold as SaaS.
- Send Futurepedia's contact form one message describing the tool, and plan as if it won't reply.
- Two weeks after each listing, inspect the website button's rel attribute, search
site:the directory for your product to confirm the page is indexed, and check your analytics for clicks. Drop any directory that sends nothing before you renew or upgrade it.
Write the listing once and reuse it. Our guide on how to write a directory listing covers the tagline, description and screenshots, how to launch an AI product covers the rest of the launch, and best AI directories lists many more sites. For why a redirect or a nofollow matters, see dofollow vs nofollow.
Names you may see in older lists
Insidr.ai still appears in "best AI directories" roundups. Its homepage now sells lead generation for businesses, and its list of 500+ AI tools sits behind a free signup, so we left it out. If a roundup quotes a Futurepedia price between $247 and $497, it predates the 404s above.
How we checked
On November 6, 2026 we read the pricing, submit, FAQ and rules pages of Futurepedia and all 14 alternatives, except Product Hunt and AlternativeTo, which we checked the same way on November 5 and November 4 for our Fazier and SaaSHub guides.
For the link column we read 367 listing pages on the other 11 alternatives and on Futurepedia, recording the website button's href and rel attribute and any redirect: 299 on Futurepedia, 30 on TopAI.tools, 12 on Toolify, 4 on TAAFT, 4 on Dang.ai, 3 each on PoweredByAI, ToolPilot, Supertools and AI Tools Directory, and 2 each on AIxploria, Future Tools and RankmyAI. Sites that block plain requests were read in Chrome. For Futurepedia we also requested the old listing URLs directly and followed each one to its final status code. We did not sign up, submit or pay anywhere.
Tool counts are each site's own, read from its homepage or sitemap. HubSpot's figures come from the 10-Q it filed for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. TAAFT's review time and AI Tools Directory's Fast Track price are from our October 7 check, because neither was readable on November 6.
SaaSCity is one of the 14 and is ours. Its entry was written from our own pricing, and its link was checked the same way on November 4.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Futurepedia alternative?
There's An AI For That is the closest all-round replacement: 55,910 tools you can search by task, free to browse and $49 to list on. For a short hand-picked list, use Future Tools. For a directory with courses beside it, use Supertools from The Rundown. For ranking data, use RankmyAI. Tool makers should start with TAAFT, because Futurepedia has no public listing route.
Is Futurepedia free?
Browsing is free, and the personal AI plan starts with a free signup. The Skill Leap courses are paid, with a 7-day free trial. For tool makers there is no listing option at any price: on November 6, 2026 the pages that once sold one returned a 404.
How do I submit a tool to Futurepedia?
As of November 6, 2026 there is no public way to do it. The /submit-tool, /enhanced, /verified, /pricing and /advertise pages all returned a 404, and no menu or footer link offers a listing. The only route we found is the general contact form at futurepedia.io/contact. On October 7 the /enhanced page still sold a $497 package.
Who owns Futurepedia?
HubSpot. Its 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 says it acquired all of Futurepedia, LLC on April 3, 2026 for $19.1 million in cash, net of cash acquired, plus about $8.6 million of post-combination consideration tied to continued employment. Futurepedia now sits inside HubSpot Media, and its site uses HubSpot's terms and privacy policy.
How many tools does Futurepedia list?
2,497. That is the number of tool URLs in its sitemap on November 6, 2026, spread across 10 categories. Roundups that quote 4,000 to 5,000 tools do not match what the site publishes now.
Is Futurepedia dofollow?
Yes, as of November 6, 2026. We read 299 listings and every Visit Website button linked straight to the product with rel="noopener noreferrer" and no nofollow. On October 7 the same button was rel="nofollow", so the rule changed within a month. Check a live listing before you rely on it.
Futurepedia vs There's An AI For That: which is better?
They do different jobs. TAAFT has about 22 times as many tools and lets you search by the task you want done, so it wins for finding something specific and for listing a product at $49. Futurepedia is smaller and built around role-based plans, workflows and courses, so it suits someone learning to use AI at work.
Futurepedia vs Future Tools: which is better?
Both are curated, and they are close in size if you count Future Tools' 4,533+ tools against Futurepedia's 2,497. Pick Future Tools for fresh AI news and Matt Wolfe's hand-picked lists, and Futurepedia for structured learning. For makers, Future Tools takes free submissions but rejects over 75% of them and passes no link. Futurepedia takes none.
Which AI directories give a followed link?
In our November 6, 2026 checks: There's An AI For That ($49), Toolify ($99), PoweredByAI ($11.99), ToolPilot (free with a link back, or $99), SaaSCity ($24.99) and Supertools (free, if picked). TopAI.tools was mixed, with 10 of 30 listings followed. Dang.ai, Future Tools and AI Tools Directory use redirects, and AIxploria and RankmyAI are nofollow.
What is the cheapest way to list an AI tool?
Free routes exist on Future Tools, RankmyAI, Supertools and AlternativeTo, all at the editors' discretion. Dang.ai and ToolPilot list you free for a link back. Among paid listings the cheapest we found were PoweredByAI at $11.99, SaaSCity at $24.99, TopAI.tools at $47 and TAAFT at $49.
How many AI directories should I list on?
Four to six is enough for most tools. Start with the free forms, pay for TAAFT, add one or two catalogs that give a followed link, and stop when new listings stop sending clicks. No single directory covers the market, and the extra ones add less each time.
