About Markedfile

Markedfile is forensic, invisible watermarking for people and teams who share sensitive files. Upload an image, PDF or video, create a separate copy for each recipient, and each copy carries its own invisible mark. If a file shows up where it shouldn't, upload what you found, even a cropped screenshot, and Markedfile tells you whose copy it most likely came from, with a confidence score. It was built by a founder whose other companies needed to mark files before sharing them, like PDFs and photos sent for identity verification, to know which copy went where. No platform did this simply, so we built one. Honest limits: detection is not guaranteed. Very small crops (roughly under 256 px of a detailed area) may not be detected, images under 96×96 px are rejected, and results come as a confidence score rather than certainty. Plans: Free (no card), Starter, Pro (unlimited files), Business (shared team workspace, video and an API) and Enterprise (custom quote). Annual plans save 17%. Video and the API are available on Business and Enterprise.

What Markedfile does

Markedfile provides forensic watermarking to help users identify which copy of their shared files leaked. It embeds an invisible watermark on the files shared privately, enabling traceability back to a specific identifier. This service aims to enhance document tracking, content protection, and data leak prevention while ensuring file contents remain private and are not stored. Users upload a file such as an image or PDF and assign a private identifier. The tool then generates a marked copy for sharing. When needed, users can upload a suspected copy to check for any surviving marks. The system retains only the identifier, status, and timestamps, not the file contents themselves, ensuring high privacy. Markedfile is designed for both individual creators and businesses who need to share sensitive documents securely. It caters to personal users sharing images and business users handling contracts, financials, and collaborative projects. Each user can keep a forensic trail on every shared copy.
