Suparelay is a web app that places real phone calls to landlines and mobile phones in more than 200 countries and territories. It runs in a current browser on a computer, a tablet or a phone. You install nothing, and you need no SIM card and no phone number of your own. Type or paste a number. Suparelay identifies the country, checks that the destination is supported, and shows the price per minute for that exact number before anything is charged. Press call and the phone on the other side rings as it does for any other call: the person you reach needs no app, no account and no internet connection. Calls are paid from prepaid credit in US dollars, from $5, charged per started minute. Billing starts when somebody answers, which includes voicemail and automated menus. Automatic top-up can add credit from a saved card when the balance runs low, so a long call does not stop. During a call there is mute, a keypad for automated phone menus, and the elapsed time. Call history records the date, duration and charge of every call. US toll-free numbers connect from abroad, where a foreign mobile often cannot reach them.
