Programme details checked against rewards.powergoodies.com and powergoodies.com (the homepage, charging maps, FAQ, download page, Source EV hub pages, product, pricing, history, team and news pages), Source EV's rewards page and the App Store and Google Play listings on October 27, 2026. Every screenshot was captured in Google Chrome from those live pages the same day.

Quick answer: PowerGoodies is a free loyalty app for electric car drivers who charge in public. You link the charge card you already use, plug in as usual at a participating charger, and points land in the app after the session. Swap them for gift vouchers from £5 or €5 (1,000 points) or donate them to charity. It works at every Source EV hub in the UK and Ireland, at all public TotalEnergies chargers in Belgium, and at Leap24, Agri Go Charge and selected TotalEnergies stations in the Netherlands. Operators set the rates, and most pay per kWh plus a bonus for unplugging within 30 minutes of a full charge. New users get 1,000 points on their first qualifying charge.

Anyone who charges in public knows the car that finished an hour ago and is still sitting in the bay. Some networks answer it with idle fees. PowerGoodies, a small Dutch company from Naarden, takes the opposite approach and pays drivers in points for charging well, and moving the car on time is part of charging well. Below is how the programme works, what the points are worth in pounds and euros, where you can earn them and who gets the most out of it.

PowerGoodies at a glance

  • A rewards programme for public EV charging, run by PowerGoodies BV in Naarden, the Netherlands. Founded in 2022; the app launched in July 2024.
  • Free on iPhone (iOS 15 or later) and Android. No subscription, and you keep your own charge card.
  • Live with Source EV in the UK and Ireland, TotalEnergies in Belgium (all public AC and DC chargers) and the Netherlands (selected stations), Leap24 and Agri Go Charge.
  • Points per kWh, plus operator bonuses for unplugging within 30 minutes of a full charge, charging at good times for the grid and a first charge on a new network.
  • 1,000 welcome points on your first qualifying charge, 150 for verifying your email, 150 for each of your first five linked cards and 250 for every friend you refer.
  • Rewards start at 1,000 points, for example a £5 voucher. Points can also go to charity.
  • Works with any battery EV or plug-in hybrid, at AC and DC chargers.

What is PowerGoodies?

PowerGoodies is a loyalty programme that sits on top of public charging. You keep your charge card and your tariff, and PowerGoodies adds points after each session. The charge point operator (CPO), the company that owns the chargers, decides how many points a session earns and pays PowerGoodies to run the programme. The driver gets the app and the rewards.

The link between the two is data the operator already has. Charging networks share session data over OCPI, the open protocol that lets roaming cards work across networks. PowerGoodies reads a copy of that feed. It sees when your linked card started a session, how many kWh went in and when the car stopped charging and started simply parking, then credits points by the operator's rules. You don't scan a QR code at the charger or keep a receipt.

Because the programme reads the operator's data, the company behind your card doesn't need to take part. A Belgian driver with any eMSP card earns the same points at a TotalEnergies charger as a TotalEnergies customer. In the UK, a SourceConnect card and an Octopus Electroverse card both count at Source EV.

Why PowerGoodies rewards drivers instead of fining them

The idea started on a weekend in Bruges in 2022. Founder Jan van Ottele came across blocking fees at the town's limited AC chargers, which were still rare in the Netherlands. He doubted they would work. Many Dutch EV drivers have a company car with a company charge card, so the person who leaves the car in the bay never sees the fine.

He wanted a positive version that pays the driver personally for good habits. Back in the Netherlands he teamed up again with Roeland van der Spek and Demid Borodin, his co-founders at the screen-mirroring company AirBeamTV, and they built PowerGoodies and signed the first operators. Van Ottele is CEO and van der Spek is CTO. The team page lists eight people, including iOS and Android developers, a designer, a QA engineer, business development and marketing.

The app went live on July 9, 2024 with AgriSnellaad (now Agri Go Charge), which made Zeeland the first Dutch province where drivers could earn PowerGoodies points. A month later the operator ran a "Sunny Sunday". Strong sun was forecast, day-ahead power prices were heading toward zero or below, and drivers who charged between noon and 4 PM got extra points. It's a good picture of what the programme is for: an operator can pull demand into the hours when electricity is cheap and plentiful, and drivers get paid for going along with it.

How does PowerGoodies work for drivers?

Setup takes one sitting, and after that the app runs in the background.

  1. Install the free PowerGoodies app on iPhone or Android and create an account with your mobile number and a verification code.
  2. Link your charge card under Cards. Any RFID card you already use at a participating network counts, roaming cards included, and you can link up to ten.
  3. Charge exactly as you do now, starting the session with the linked card.
  4. Points arrive after the session. Check your balance, history and next reward in the app, and spend points in the Shop.

The app also has a map of the chargers that pay points, with live availability and filters for fast chargers and free bays. Push messages tell you when your car is full and when charging is rewarded, and the history lists every session with the points it earned.

One habit matters: points follow the card. Start each session with a card you've linked in the app, because that's how PowerGoodies matches the session to your account.

Where can you earn PowerGoodies points?

At the end of October 2026, four operators take part across the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Ireland. The PowerGoodies map shows only chargers where you earn points, with green pins for free chargers and orange for occupied ones.

United Kingdom and Ireland: Source EV

On September 24, 2026, PowerGoodies became the official loyalty programme of Source EV, the ultra-rapid network created by TotalEnergies and SSE. Source EV calls it Source Rewards, delivered by PowerGoodies. It covered every hub from day one, with chargers from 150 to 300 kW across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, and new hubs join automatically as Source EV opens them. Every kWh earns 2 points, starting from the first.

Six hubs have their own page on the PowerGoodies site with live charger status, directions and parking notes: Heathrow (Hayes), Manchester (Eccles), Bolton, Glasgow, Edinburgh (Ocean Terminal) and Dundee. The Glasgow page lists three 150 kW chargers across six bays at 290 Castlebank Street, open 24/7, with a 90-minute parking limit and a Starbucks in the same precinct. Handy if you want a coffee while the car charges.

Belgium: TotalEnergies

Since October 24, 2025, drivers earn points at every public TotalEnergies AC and DC charger in Belgium, whichever eMSP card they use. The launch took place at TotalEnergies' fast-charging site in Olen, near Antwerp, and started with two incentives: points per kWh and a bonus for freeing the charger promptly after an AC session.

Netherlands: Leap24, Agri Go Charge and TotalEnergies

Leap24 joined in January 2026 and became the first Dutch provider to pay rewards on fast charging at all its locations, PartnerPark sites excepted. Every common charge card counts there, so you don't need the Leap24 PartnerPass. Agri Go Charge, the Zeeland launch partner, pays points at every station. TotalEnergies has taken part at selected Dutch stations since July 2026, and the map shows which ones.

The Operators where you earn points in the Netherlands section of the PowerGoodies Netherlands map page: Leap24, points at every Leap24 charging point, fast charging included; Agri Go Charge, points at every station, formerly AgriSnellaad; TotalEnergies, points at selected stations only, with the map showing the ones that take part

The Dutch map also breaks charging down by province and municipality, from Haarlem and Almere to Middelburg and Vlissingen, with pages that show how many public chargers each town has and where you earn points.

How many points do you earn per kWh?

The operator sets the rate, so it differs by network and sometimes by location. Tap a pin on the map and the app shows that charger's points per kWh and any bonuses before you plug in.

Source EV: a flat 2 points per kWh

Source EV keeps it simple with 2 points per kWh at every hub. A 40 kWh rapid top-up earns 80 points and a 60 kWh session earns 120.

TotalEnergies in the Netherlands: tiers that favour bigger sessions

The Dutch TotalEnergies stations use tiers. In the example PowerGoodies published, the first 20 kWh earn no points, 20 to 40 kWh earn 2 points per kWh, 40 to 50 kWh earn 10 and anything above 50 kWh earns 15. PowerGoodies says the design is deliberate. It rewards sessions that add real energy to the car, so a bay isn't tied up for a few kWh, and the exact rates can vary by location, campaign or period.

PowerGoodies' explainer on earning points at TotalEnergies in the Netherlands, under the heading 1. Earn points per charged kWh, listing an example of 0 to 20 kWh at 0 points per kWh, 20 to 40 kWh at 2 points, 40 to 50 kWh at 10 points and 50+ kWh at 15 points, with a note to check current rewards in the app

Bonuses come on top. The example screen for a TotalEnergies charger in Naarden shows 100 points for charging between 08:00 and 17:00, 100 for unplugging within 30 minutes of a full charge and 100 for a first charge at TotalEnergies.

Sign-up and behaviour bonuses

These are the bonuses PowerGoodies lists across its pages. The first four are sign-up bonuses, and the last two depend on the operator.

BonusPointsWhen you get it
Welcome bonus1,000Your first qualifying charge, once per account
Verify your email150Once, in the app
Link a charge card150 per cardFor each of your first five cards (up to 750)

Unplug on timeSet by the operatorWithin 30 minutes of a full charge, at most participating chargers
Charge at good timesSet by the operatorDaytime, sunny or low-price windows the operator picks

PowerGoodies' Source EV launch post adds these up to "up to 1,550 points before your second charge": the welcome bonus, email, one card and one referral. Until the end of November 2026, the App Store listing also promotes the 1,000-point first-charge bonus at Source EV, Leap24, Agri Go Charge and TotalEnergies.

What are PowerGoodies points worth?

Rewards in the Shop start at 1,000 points, which buys a £5 gift voucher at Source EV prices. The donation screens in the Dutch app use the same rate, 1,000 points for €5. So 200 points are worth about £1 or €1.

The What your points are worth section of the Source EV Glasgow page, headed Keep earning after your first reward, explaining that rewards start at 1,000 points such as a £5 gift voucher, next to a list: 1,000 points for the first qualifying charge, 2 points per kWh on every eligible session, 150 for linking a charging card, 150 for adding an email address and 250 for each referred friend

With that rate, the maths is easy:

  • The welcome bonus pays for your first reward on its own. Verify your email and link one card, and you'll have 1,300 points after your first charge.
  • At Source EV, 2 points per kWh comes to about 1p per kWh. A driver who rapid-charges 200 kWh a month collects 400 points, enough for a £5 voucher every two and a half months before any referrals or bonuses.
  • On the Dutch TotalEnergies tiers, the top rate of 15 points per kWh is worth about 7.5 euro cents per kWh, and each 100-point bonus adds another 50 cents.

PowerGoodies works like a supermarket loyalty card. Each visit adds a little, and regular public chargers see it add up. Since the app costs nothing and changes nothing about how you pay, everything it gives you comes on top of whatever your card and tariff already offer. Drivers whose employer pays for charging get the most out of it, because the points go to them personally.

How do you redeem or donate points?

Open the Shop tab and choose a voucher. Vouchers work in the brand's webshop, or in a store by scanning the barcode on your phone.

In the UK and Ireland, the range at launch included Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S, John Lewis & Partners, Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Nando's and Farmfoods. Dutch users see brands such as HEMA, Douglas, Adidas, Gamma and MyJewellery. The cheapest vouchers are £5 or €5, so a coffee on the road is usually your first reward, and the weekly shop comes later.

The PowerGoodies download page with the headline Earn points while charging your EV, explaining that you add your existing charge card in the free app and earn points at participating public charging stations, redeemable for gift cards from well-known brands, next to a fan of gift cards including HEMA, Adidas, Decathlon, Gamma and a book voucher

Since July 2026, the app also has a Donations tab. You pick a charity, choose an amount and confirm with one tap. The list includes Jantje Beton, Alzheimer Nederland, Utrechts Landschap and Speelgoedbank Zeeland, through the Dutch donation platform Geef.nl. PowerGoodies pays the transaction costs, so the charity receives the full amount, and the app lets you share your donation afterwards. The feature arrived on iOS first, with Android following.

Does PowerGoodies work with my charge card?

In most cases, yes. PowerGoodies matches sessions to cards through the operator's own data, so your card provider doesn't need to be a partner. Belgium's TotalEnergies rollout works with all eMSP cards, Leap24 accepts all common cards, and at Source EV both a SourceConnect card and roaming cards such as Octopus Electroverse count.

You can add up to ten cards to one account, and the first five earn 150 points each. That suits households with two cars and drivers who carry a work card and a personal one. Your card provider still bills you for the electricity at your usual rate; PowerGoodies only adds the points.

The programme works with any battery EV or plug-in hybrid, from a Tesla, Kia EV6 or Volkswagen ID to a BMW 330e, at both AC and DC chargers.

Does rewarding drivers change how they charge?

In July 2025, PowerGoodies published an independent analysis by data science firm Atrici, which specialises in causal inference. Atrici looked at nearly 800,000 charging sessions and focused on a core group of 295 drivers with reliable data from before and after they started using the app, controlling for confounding variables to isolate the app's effect.

After joining, drivers of fully electric cars charged 12.9 kWh more per week at participating chargers, a 24.3% increase. Plug-in hybrid drivers charged 4.3 kWh more per week, up 26.6%.

PowerGoodies' July 2025 announcement of the Atrici analysis, describing nearly 800,000 charging sessions and a core group of 295 users, with results of +12.9 kWh per week (a 24.3% increase) for full electric vehicles and +4.3 kWh per week (a 26.6% increase) for plug-in hybrids, above a bar chart titled Weekly Charging Increase with PowerGoodies Bonus

For an operator, that's extra volume at its own chargers. For drivers, it shows the points do steer people toward networks that reward them. The study covered a few hundred users at the early partner networks, so treat it as an early result. It's still a measured before-and-after effect, which is more than a loyalty scheme usually shows its users.

PowerGoodies for charge point operators

Drivers use the app for free; operators are the paying customers. PowerGoodies sells a ready-made rewards programme that a CPO can launch in a few weeks without its own development work.

Pricing is pay as you go. There's no setup fee, no monthly or support fee and no fixed price per charge point. The operator pays a service fee for each point it awards, so the cost follows the rewards actually given out. An operator can reward drivers only when it suits its margins: on sunny afternoons when wholesale power is cheap, at a new site that needs traffic, or at busy AC locations where freeing bays matters most.

The Pay as You Go pricing section of the PowerGoodies product page, explaining there are no setup fees, monthly maintenance charges, support fees or fixed rates per charge point and that operators pay a service fee for every point awarded, next to a phone showing the app's Earning points screen with a 1,372-point balance and an Add new card prompt worth 150 points

The behaviours an operator can reward include:

  • charging when energy costs are low
  • unplugging when the car is full, or once it reaches 80% state of charge
  • taking part in smart charging
  • leaving feedback, photos included
  • visiting newly installed charge points

The PowerGoodies product page section Incentivize EV Drivers with rewards for, with cards for charging when energy costs are low, disconnecting when the car is fully charged, disconnecting when the car is at 80% SoC, participating in smart charging, giving user feedback including photos and visiting newly placed charge points

Integration runs on a copy of the operator's OCPI feed. PowerGoodies already connects to several back office platforms, including Last Mile Solutions. The feed shows when a session switches from charging to parking, which lets the app nudge the driver to move and pay the unplug bonus without anyone checking by hand.

PowerGoodies also takes on the rollout work. It supplies and applies branded marketing materials on the chargers, provides text, photos and video for the operator's own website, and runs driver acquisition online and offline. Operators also get a direct line to every driver who charges with them, including roaming customers whose contract sits with another provider. The PowerGoodies product page for CPOs has the details and a form to book an online meeting. The company is also open to partnerships with hardware makers, CPMS providers, MSPs and municipalities.

What drivers say about the app

The app launched publicly in July 2024, and Google Play shows more than 10,000 downloads. In the Dutch App Store, its longest-running market, it has a 4.7 rating from 55 reviews and was No. 159 in Navigation on the day we checked.

The PowerGoodies Spaarprogramma listing in the Dutch App Store showing 55 ratings with an average of 4.7, a 4+ age rating, number 159 in the Navigation chart, developer PowerGoodies BV, Dutch plus 6 other languages and a size of 171 MB, above app screenshots

The UK listing has three ratings so far. One British driver wrote in October: "I've already earned two gift cards in my first week, which was such a nice surprise and I really like being able to see the points adding up while I'm charging." Another called it "an amazing and simple app" that earns "points with zero effort whilst you charge."

Updates come often. Version 2.8.5 reached the App Store the day we checked, with DC charging at Source EV and bug fixes, and the Android app was updated on October 18.

What we liked and what to keep in mind

What works well

  • It's free and needs nothing at the charger. Once your card is linked, points arrive by themselves.
  • It works with the card you already have, roaming cards included, and up to ten cards per account.
  • The welcome bonus covers a first £5 or €5 reward straight away.
  • It rewards habits other drivers appreciate, especially freeing the bay on time.
  • The rewards are things people buy anyway, from groceries to coffee to a meal out, and you can give them to charity instead.
  • The map shows only chargers that pay points, with live availability and each charger's rates.
  • Points go to the driver personally, which makes them a real perk for company-car drivers.

What to know before you start

  • Coverage is four operators so far. You earn only at their chargers, so the app pays best if you already use Source EV, Leap24, Agri Go Charge or TotalEnergies.
  • Flat rates are modest. At Source EV, 2 points per kWh is about 1p per kWh, so the bonuses and referrals do much of the work.
  • Under the published Dutch TotalEnergies example, short top-ups below 20 kWh earn no kWh points.
  • Start each session with the card you linked, or PowerGoodies can't match it to your account.
  • A few early App Store reviews mention a sign-up code that never arrived. PowerGoodies answers those reviews and registers people by hand through [email protected].

Who is PowerGoodies for?

  • Drivers who rapid-charge at Source EV in the UK and Ireland, especially those who charge several times a week.
  • Company-car drivers whose employer pays for charging, since the points are theirs to keep.
  • Drivers without a home charger who depend on public AC charging in Belgium or Zeeland.
  • Dutch drivers who use Leap24 for fast charging.
  • Charge point operators that want more sessions, fewer hogged bays and a direct relationship with roaming drivers, without upfront costs.

How to set up PowerGoodies before your next charge

  1. Get the free app from the PowerGoodies download page. On a phone it opens the App Store or Google Play, and on a computer it shows a QR code to scan.
  2. Create an account with your mobile number and enter the verification code. Add and verify your email for 150 points.
  3. Go to Cards and link the RFID card you charge with. Each of your first five cards earns 150 points.
  4. Open the map and find a participating charger near you. Tap a pin to see its points per kWh and bonuses.
  5. Start the session with your linked card, as usual. Where a disconnect bonus applies, unplug within 30 minutes of a full charge.
  6. Collect the 1,000-point welcome bonus after your first qualifying charge, then redeem it in the Shop or donate it.
  7. Share your referral link from Account, then Share with Friends. You both get 250 points when your friend completes a first charge.

You can delete your account at any time under Account, Settings, Account, Delete my account, or through the form on the PowerGoodies website. PowerGoodies says deletion removes all the information it holds about you.

Is PowerGoodies worth downloading?

If you charge in public at Source EV, Leap24, Agri Go Charge or TotalEnergies in Belgium or the Netherlands, yes. It's free, setup takes about five minutes, and your first charge earns enough for a £5 or €5 voucher. After that, points build up in the background, and faster if you unplug on time and charge when the operator asks. The partner list has grown from one Zeeland operator in 2024 to four operators in four countries, so drivers elsewhere can install it now and earn when their network joins.

For operators, the pay-as-you-go model means a rewards programme costs nothing until a driver actually earns a point.

FAQ

What is PowerGoodies?

PowerGoodies is a free loyalty app for electric car drivers who charge in public. You link the charge card you already use, charge as normal at a participating operator, and points are added to the app after each session. You can swap the points for gift vouchers or donate them to charity. It's run by PowerGoodies BV, based in Naarden in the Netherlands.

Is PowerGoodies free?

Yes. The app is free on iPhone and Android, there's no subscription and you don't need a new charge card. You keep paying for electricity through your own card at your usual rate, and PowerGoodies adds points on top. The charge point operators pay PowerGoodies to run the programme.

Where can I earn PowerGoodies points?

At every Source EV hub in the UK and Ireland, at all public TotalEnergies AC and DC chargers in Belgium, and at Leap24, Agri Go Charge and selected TotalEnergies stations in the Netherlands. The map in the app and on rewards.powergoodies.com shows only the chargers where you earn points.

How many PowerGoodies points do I get per kWh?

The operator sets the rate. Source EV pays a flat 2 points per kWh from the first kWh. PowerGoodies' published example for selected TotalEnergies stations in the Netherlands uses tiers: 0 points per kWh up to 20 kWh, 2 from 20 to 40 kWh, 10 from 40 to 50 kWh and 15 above 50 kWh. Bonuses for unplugging on time, daytime charging or a first charge come on top. Tap a charger on the map to see its current rates.

What are PowerGoodies points worth?

Rewards start at 1,000 points, which buys a £5 gift voucher at Source EV prices. The Dutch app's donation screen uses the same rate, 1,000 points for €5. That puts 200 points at roughly £1 or €1, and the 1,000-point welcome bonus on your first qualifying charge covers your first reward.

Do I need a special charge card for PowerGoodies?

No. PowerGoodies reads charging sessions from the operator's data, so it works with the RFID card you already use at a participating network, roaming cards included. At Source EV that covers a SourceConnect card and cards such as Octopus Electroverse. You can link up to ten cards to one account, and the first five earn 150 points each.

How does the PowerGoodies disconnect bonus work?

Most participating operators pay extra points when you unplug within 30 minutes of the car reaching a full charge. PowerGoodies sees from the operator's data when charging stops and the car is only parked, and the app can send you a push message so you know when to move. The bonus amount is set per operator and shown on the charger's pin in the map.

Can I donate PowerGoodies points to charity?

Yes. Since July 2026 the app has a Donations tab where you pick a charity, choose an amount and confirm with one tap. Charities include Jantje Beton, Alzheimer Nederland, Utrechts Landschap and Speelgoedbank Zeeland, through the Dutch donation platform Geef.nl. PowerGoodies pays the transaction costs, so the full amount reaches the charity.

Who owns PowerGoodies?

PowerGoodies BV, a Dutch company in Naarden founded in 2022. Jan van Ottele is founder and CEO and Roeland van der Spek is founder and CTO; they previously built the screen-mirroring company AirBeamTV together with Demid Borodin. The app launched in July 2024 in Zeeland with the operator AgriSnellaad, now Agri Go Charge.

How much does PowerGoodies cost charge point operators?

There's no setup fee, monthly fee, support fee or fixed price per charge point. Operators pay a service fee for each point they award to drivers, so the cost follows the rewards actually given. Integration uses a copy of the operator's OCPI feed, and PowerGoodies handles charger marketing materials, website content and driver sign-ups.
