BetaList alternatives in 2026

BetaList now charges for every submission. If you want a free route, more than one day of exposure, or a home for a product past the beta stage, these are the places to look. Facts as of October 2026.

What BetaList is

BetaList is a site where early adopters discover upcoming and recently launched internet startups, and where founders share theirs to get early users and feedback. Marc Köhlbrugge started it in 2010. It only takes pre-launch and recently launched tech startups on their own domain, with a landing page of their own.

As of October 2026, its FAQ says all submissions are paid and there is no free option. It used to have one. If BetaList does not select your startup, the payment is refunded in full. A featured startup appears on BetaList for a day, and a startup can be featured at most twice: once before launch and once at launch. Featured startups can buy a Boost for $99 a week or $199 a month.

BetaList says it has featured over 24,000 startups and has 500,000+ pageviews a month. Those are its own figures.

Why founders look for alternatives

  • There is no free route. Every submission is paid as of October 2026, and the plan prices show only inside the submission form, after you sign in.
  • Exposure lasts a day. A featured startup is on BetaList for one day. More time on the site costs extra through Boost.
  • The fit is narrow. It wants pre-launch or newly launched tech startups with their own domain and a distinctive landing page. A product that has been live for a while, or has had press, is a poor fit.
  • Selection comes without feedback. Its FAQ says it cannot give specific feedback when it passes on a startup.

The alternatives

Ten places to launch or list an early-stage product, plus SaaSCity, measured on the same points: format, free route and cheapest paid option.

Ordered by Ahrefs Domain Rating from our directory dataset, highest first, SaaSCity included. DR measures the strength of the site’s own domain. It says nothing about how many customers a launch brings.

Where SaaSCity fits

SaaSCity is a launch directory for SaaS and AI tools, drawn as a city map, on a DR 65 domain. It has the free route BetaList dropped: your launch takes the first Monday with one of 15 free slots open, or $19.99 skips the queue. It is not built around pre-launch startups and has no newsletter, so for a beta that needs early adopters, PitchWall or BetaList itself fit better. For more options, see the best SaaS directories and our Product Hunt alternatives.

BetaList alternatives FAQ

Is BetaList still free?
No. As of October 2026 its FAQ says all submissions are paid and there is no free option. If BetaList does not select your startup, the payment is refunded in full.
What is the closest BetaList alternative for a pre-launch startup?
PitchWall, which took over BetaPage, says it welcomes beta and alpha products. Product Hunt does not feature waitlist-only products unless people get access right away, and Show HN does not accept sign-up pages.
Which BetaList alternatives are free?
Product Hunt, Show HN, Indie Hackers and Peerlist Launchpad cost nothing to use. Startup Fame, Fazier, Uneed, Tiny Startups, PitchWall, Launching Next and SaaSCity have free routes with a wait or a condition, such as a badge, a link back or a post. Details are in the table above, as of October 2026.
Should I still launch on BetaList?
If you have a pre-launch or newly launched tech startup on your own domain and want early adopters, it is built for that. Treat it as one day of exposure plus a listing, and plan other launches around it.
Why is SaaSCity not first on this list?
The list is ordered by Domain Rating from our directory dataset, and SaaSCity goes where its DR puts it, like every other row.

Prices, queues and rules are as of October 2026 and were read on each platform’s own site. They change often, so check the platform before you pay. DR figures come from our directory dataset (Ahrefs Domain Rating) and can move a few points between checks.
