Uneed alternatives in 2026

Uneed is free to join, but a free launch date can be months away and has to earn votes to stay up. These launch sites trade that wait for a different one, a badge or a small fee. Facts as of October 2026.

What Uneed is

Uneed is a launchpad for tech products. New launches go live every day at 12:00 AM PST, and community votes rank them as Product of the Day, Week, Month and Year. The top three earn badges and a place in the weekly newsletter.

Submitting is free. As of October 2026, its FAQ says the free line gives you a date between 30 days and 5 months out. Fast-track costs $14.99 for a slot in about 14 days, and Skip the line costs $29.99 to pick your own date. Paid launches are never declined.

Uneed is run by one person, Thomas Sanlis. It says it has 90K monthly visitors and 26,000 newsletter subscribers. Those are its own figures.

Why founders look for alternatives

  • The free wait is long. A free launch date lands 30 days to 5 months out. Uneed closed its free line on August 17, 2026, when the wait passed six months, and reopened it on September 11, 2026.
  • A free launch has to earn votes. It needs an upvote score of 10 on launch day to stay published and 20 to keep a dofollow link. Below 10, the product is unpublished and cannot rejoin the free line.
  • Free submissions can be declined. They go through moderation. Paid launches are never declined.

The alternatives

Ten launch sites, plus SaaSCity, measured on the same points: format, free route and cheapest paid option.

Ordered by Ahrefs Domain Rating from our directory dataset, highest first, SaaSCity included. DR measures the strength of the site’s own domain. It says nothing about how many customers a launch brings.

10.SaaSCity

DR 65

Free:
Yes. Launches on the first Monday with one of 15 weekly free slots open
Paid:
Quick Pass $19.99, skips the queue
Best for:
SaaS and AI tools that want a permanent page and a dated launch

11.Microlaunch

DR 64

Each launch runs for 30 days with monthly rankings, so there is no single launch day to win. The free route is a slow queue.

Free:
Yes, with a 2 to 3+ month queue
Paid:
Launch Pro $39 (shown against $49)
Best for:
Makers who want a month of exposure

Where SaaSCity fits

SaaSCity runs a weekly launch on a city map, on a DR 65 domain, and every product keeps a building with its own page afterwards. A free launch takes the first Monday with one of 15 free slots open, or $19.99 skips the queue. Uneed has a daily format and a newsletter, and SaaSCity has neither, so launching on both is reasonable. For more options, see the best SaaS directories and our Product Hunt alternatives.
