FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ledgerly launches invoicing that chases late payments

Free for up to three clients, with reminders and payment links built in

LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 27, 2026 — Quayside Software, a two-person software company, today launched Ledgerly, an invoicing app for freelancers.

Freelancers using Ledgerly turn tracked hours into a sent invoice in two clicks, and their clients get a polite reminder when a payment is late.

"We built Ledgerly because chasing clients for money was the worst part of our own freelance work," said Ana Ribeiro, co-founder of Quayside Software.

Key features:

  • Turns tracked hours into an invoice in two clicks
  • Sends reminders on a schedule the freelancer sets
  • Adds a card and bank payment link to every invoice

Ledgerly is available today on the web and iOS, worldwide. It is free for up to three clients. The Pro plan costs €9 a month. Learn more at https://ledgerly.example.

Quick answer

What is the standard press release format?

Top to bottom: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, a headline, an optional subheadline, a dateline (city and date), a lead answering who, what, when, where and why, a quote, details, availability and pricing, an “About” boilerplate, a media contact and ### to end. Example lead: “LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 27, 2026 — Quayside Software today launched Ledgerly, an invoicing app for freelancers.”

How to use the press release generator

  1. Pick the type

Product launch, funding round, new feature, partnership or milestone. The type decides how the lead sentence is built.

  2. Fill in the facts

Company, product, city and date, a quote and two to four details. Anything you leave empty shows as a [gap] in the preview.

  3. Check the headline and the lead

Keep the headline near 55 characters and make sure the five Ws are all covered.

  4. Copy or download

Copy the text, or download it as .txt, .md or .html. Copy link puts the whole draft in a link you can send to a cofounder.

How the generator writes your release

Each release type has its own lead sentence. A launch reads “Company, a few words about it, today launched Product, a few words about it.” A funding round reads “today announced it has raised the amount in the round led by the investor”, followed by what the money is for. The dateline in front gives the city in capitals and the date in AP style, such as Oct. 27, 2026.

The rest follows the standard order: why it matters, the quote (“…,” said the name and title), the details as bullets, availability and pricing, About the company, the media contact and ### to close. Nothing is invented. Every sentence comes from what you typed, and an empty field shows as a gap in brackets.

The word count covers the whole release. Reading time assumes 238 words a minute, the average silent reading speed for English non-fiction in Marc Brysbaert’s 2019 review of 190 reading studies.

Worked example: a fictional launch

  1. Who: Quayside Software, a two-person software company.
  2. What: it launched Ledgerly, an invoicing app for freelancers. When and where: Oct. 27, 2026, from Lisbon.
  3. Dateline and lead: “LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 27, 2026 — Quayside Software, a two-person software company, today launched Ledgerly, an invoicing app for freelancers.” The lead is 14 words.
  4. Headline: “Ledgerly launches invoicing that chases late payments”, 53 characters, within the 55 PRSA suggests.
  5. Whole release: 180 words, about 1 minute to read at 238 words a minute (180 ÷ 238 = 0.76 minutes).

Product launch press release: what to include

A launch release has to tell an editor what is new, for whom and why now, in the first sentence. Lead with the product and the problem it solves, then give the price, where to get it and a date. Add a number a reporter can quote, such as a customer count, only when it is true and you can show where it comes from. Screenshots, logos and founder photos belong in a press kit you link to, not in the release.

How long a press release should be

Nebraska Extension’s guide puts a press release at one to two pages, with body paragraphs of three or four sentences and a lead of one or two sentences, about 25 to 30 words. A launch release usually fits on one page: the facts, one quote, a few details and the boilerplate. Anything longer belongs in a blog post or a press kit linked from the release.

Press release questions

What is a press release template?
A fixed outline for an announcement: release line, headline, dateline, lead, quote, details, boilerplate, media contact and ###. You swap in your own facts. This generator fills the outline as you type, in the order editors expect.
How do you write a press release for a product launch?
Open with the dateline and one sentence that says who launched what, today. Follow with why it matters, a founder’s quote, two to four product details, price and availability, the company boilerplate and a media contact. End with ###.
What does ### mean at the end of a press release?
It marks the end, so an editor knows nothing follows. Nebraska Extension’s guide puts three pound signs centred under the last paragraph.
What is a dateline in a press release?
The city and date that open the first paragraph, such as “LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 27, 2026 —”. AP style puts the city in capitals and abbreviates Jan., Feb., Aug., Sept., Oct., Nov. and Dec. when a day follows.
What is a boilerplate in a press release?
The standard “About” paragraph near the end: what the company does, for whom, where it is based and since when. Keep it to two or three factual sentences and reuse the same text in every release.
How long should a press release headline be?
Ann Wylie, writing for PRSA, suggests 55 characters or fewer and cites an AP guideline of 40 for mobile. The generator counts the characters as you type.
What does “for immediate release” mean?
That outlets may publish the news as soon as they receive it. To ask them to wait, swap it for an embargo line with a date, time and time zone, and send the release only to people you trust to hold it.
Is this press release generator free, and does it use AI?
It is free, needs no sign-up and uses no AI. Every sentence comes from fixed templates and the facts you type, in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the draft stays on your device.
